How to Diffuse Anger & Let go of Anger - NLP Article

Anger management is practically a field by itself within psychology. And yet, sometimes, with the right anger release techniques, you can let go of anger easily and naturally.

"Holding on to anger is like grasping a hot coal with the intent of throwing it at someone else; you are the one who gets burned." -- Buddha

Truth Detection or Lie Detection - NLP Article

The bottom line in all the NLP-based methods I know for Truth-Detection, is always calibration. Calibration of others, calibration of self. Without stellar calibration skills, these methods simply do not work. And I've found that some people who think they're naturally good at this are, and some are surprisingly horrible. Without a reliable TOTE (test-operate-test-exit) model for identifying/measuring results, it's shooting in the dark for most people. Suspecting a lie is very different from knowing it's truth or not.

Jonathan's Article/Posting

I've been exploring two new simple techniques for changing my state and would appreciate some feedback on how well this works. Assuming you want to try them out, of course.

Developing NLP Calibration Skills - Critical NLP Skill! NLP Article.

NLP "Calibration?" What the heck is that?

Simply put -- calibrating is another word for measuring. In the context of learning NLP -- how well you "calibrate" to another person, and their state of mind, and what's going on inside their minds -- determines to a significant degree how effective your communication will be with them.

The Power of Opposites - NLP Article

While running our recent Master Practitioner training in Tampa, I was struck by the repetitious theme of the importance of Polar opposites.

NLP Emotional State-Chaining Skills - NLP Article by Jonathan Altfeld

I have decided to begin focusing more significantly, thematically speaking, on helping NLP students develop their skills with State Chaining. I hope this NLP article helps you to learn more about this under-appreciated NLP Skill-set.

Certainly I have a range of different seminars planned, and each course delivers on their relevant topics as a primary focus. It is also easy to blend certain themes or focuses into those courses, thanks to how we train at both process (method) and content (information) levels.

Intentional Incongruence is a great Pattern Interrupt! NLP Article.

NLP focuses on Congruence

Most of the books on your NLP shelf... most of the CDs & DVDs in your NLP media library, and most of the NLP training you can take... all put a great deal of emphasis on learning to become more congruent, and become less in-congruent. They emphasize the value of achieving more congruence - for really good reasons!

Cold-Reading Metaprograms, NLP Article

A student recently came up to me at the beginning of a seminar and expressed frustration over (a) not having enough magic bullets of persuasion, (b) not being able to magically know exactly what to say to people he hadn't yet spoken to, and (c) not automatically being the persuasive guy he wanted to be, no matter how many 'magic bubbles' he hallucinated around him and his persuasion subjects.

Structure of Humor, & Humorous 1-liner Jokes - NLP Article

Most jokes of the well-known "One-Liner" form come from taking a well-known, oft-heard cliche, and considering what ambiguities can be found within the sounds of the words, or what other meanings can be made from the words themselves.

On the NLP Modeling of Wolves, like Shamanic Power Animals.

This is a slightly edited version of an email reply to someone. Details of the recipient, & direct quotations have been removed. They asked: (1) How one might model a wolf, (2) What that might do for them, & (3) How one might use the non-verbal communication of a wolf to improve one's daily life?
