| What People Say About our Linguistic Wizardry Training! |
| David Gould, Bristol, UK |
I went to this training in London and it was superb.
Jonathan designed this training around what students were asking for, but he delivered much much more. If you've ever wanted to learn the art of the pattern interrupt... or deliver embedded commands... or solve people's problems in minutes then you better find out when the next Linguistic Wizardry seminar is.
What made it particularly special was the balance. It's perhaps tricky to convey why this is so important, except to say that a training is spread over a period of time and is much more than just any particular exercise or useful learning. Unusually, I know that I got something really useful from each exercise. As for what further changes will manifest, time will tell.
What else was special? I experienced a wide range of fabulous emotions, from pleasure to excitement and anticipation; awe and wonder; intrigue; exhilaration; not to mention the endless amusement. There's something deeply satisfying about this, kind of like after a really great action movie, only much better...
Most of the new skills I've learnt are ones that don't tend to get to taught on Practitioner or Master Practitioner trainings.
Jonathan's voice sounded wonderful. His voice tapes, if you've heard them, really don't do him justice. I don't know whether it's a recording issue, or whether his voice has improved that much since. At times I could barely stay with it, as I became spellbound by the subtle vibrations that shaped each phoneme.
As I've mentioned in previous testimonials, Jonathan somehow manages to ensure that the learning environment is friendly and relaxed. Everybody learns a lot, and something else I've noticed is that at least 75% have gone back for more. Almost everyone on this training had been to previous ones.
The main emphasis of this training is integrating your skills so that you can get maximum benefit from them. This has certainly happened for me and I'm excited about finding out how much the other trainees have achieved this too.

Liked Most: Embedded Commands, & I know the vocal rhythm skills were very useful
|
Want More of: Rhythm skills & Embedded Commands
|
Want Less of: The VAK skills. It wasn't necessary to go through this material. Less story-telling.
|
Testimonial: Jonathan is a superb teacher. It's amazing how well the skills he teaches integrate together. Sometime you may wonder why he's teaching a certain skill, but in the end it all fits together and makes sense.

| Liked Most: Intervention Work! It was very useful to watch Jonathan & the other attendees at work -- the interventions were carried out in a wonderfully respectful & caring manner, and to see faces light up with sudden understanding & relaxing or exciting relief was very precious. These exercises also integrated all the skills and required us to think on multiple levels! |
Testimonial:
It was particularly interesting for me to attend this training the second time after just two weeks (Ariane went to the DC & the UK trainings). I was amazed to watch Jonathan build the same seminars in such a different way -- how much he reacts to the audience's signals and characters and designs the seminars around the individual's responses. I was fascinated by the way he was tying the diverse attendees (many different nationalities, backgrounds, levels of training) together into a dynamic group. It occurred to me how wonderful it is to be an attendee of a seminar in which the leader draws constant inspiration from each individual.
Jonathan's language and people skills are wizardry -- and he makes it available, learnable, and understandable! He is very "contagious" in his way of rapid and multi-level thinking. He raises awareness levels of speakers and listeners with ease (you don't even notice it!).
I have always had a lot of deep insights in Jonathan's seminars, met a bunch of great friends, made some wonderful friendships -- and by the way -- the FUN FACTOR of the whole thing is not to be neglected!

Liked Most: The integration of language patterns, so that their use is more flowing & automatic!
|
Want More of: Particular Sleight of Mouth Patterns could be included in a booklet for reference.
|
Testimonial: Yet again Jonathan has helped me to learn more about Advanced Language Patterns than I ever expected! Jonathan's caring attitude shines through and makes each training I attend better & better!
|
|
| Silke Scheidereiter, Germany |
Liked Most: Translation between Representational-Systems, Interventions, Chunking, Pattern Interrupts, Eliciting & Changing States, etc!
|
Want More of: Sleight-Of-Mouth Patterns, Metaphors, Conversational Inductions, Binds/Double-Binds -> What about a longer workshop on THIS topic?!, Pattern Interrupts, Tonality & Voice stuff!
|
Want Less of: Maybe interventions on Day 1 could be removed. (Jonathan's comment: I agree, thanks!)
|
Testimonial: This has been a major stepping stone for me to integrate, polish up & learn new ways to use my NLP skills. I've had some exceptional break-throughs in those few days and I'm excited & curious about what's going to happen as I'm taking my new skills into the "real world"... Thank you, Jon!

| Nick Fortune, Dublin, Ireland |
Liked Most: The handshake interrupts were perhaps the most fun, and the interventions were fantastic!
|
Want More of: A little more on constructing metaphors - something intermediate between chunking and the final explanation - an exercise, perhaps.
|
Testimonial: Having attended 3 of Jonathan's seminars, I have yet to leave one less than amazed, not only by how much I've learned, but by his skill in bringing forth abilities I didn't know I possessed, & always in the most surprising & entertaining ways.

| Ted VanderNoot, London, UK |
Liked Most: Interrupts, Intervention exercises, Representational System translation
|
Testimonial: I was stretched in ways that I didn't even know there were ways to be stretched in!
|
|
| Wolfgang Wein, Tampa, FL |
Liked Most: Widening my horizon of possibilities (or choices & skills) available to me!
|
Want More of: I suggest adding some simple & short Kinesiology exercises in some breaks to facilitate integration and to retune our energy. Also more please on Chunk Size & Direction regarding Metaphors.
|
Want Less of: Less focus on how to do interrupts & more focus on how to use them!
|
Testimonial:
Be aware -- you might change a lot in just 3 days -- and in a very positive way! Be amazed -- just like me -- how much you actually can learn in one weekend.
Training with Jonathan has always been and will keep being a great, uplifting, challenging, entertaining, intensive and joyful experience. His creativity and fluency with NLP and language especially is an inspiring model for me.
Jonathan is very engaged with his students, is generous with detailed feedback and quickly made everyone feel comfortable. He was answering questions, training intervention processes, and giving us real-live examples of Linguistic Wizardry until late in the evening (way after the "official" seminar time), on each day of the training.
The level of experience of the attendees ranged from first contact with NLP to Master Practitioners and Trainers. This diversity makes for a great learning environment and Jonathan smoothly adjusts to each individual's needs and the group as a whole. I know that you will enjoy integrating your language skills when you come to the next Linguistic Wizardry event.

I am happy to thoroughly recommend Jonathan's 3-day LW course both to totally new & experienced NLP people.
The course has enabled me to take a number of basic NLP techniques, e.g. Eliciting States, Interrupting Patterns, Binding States, & begin to apply them with a precision that I would not previously have thought possible.
This course would be particularly useful to anyone who uses communication skills as part of their work or profession. (This review came after attending the Washington DC event; Michael later attended the London training as well).

This seminar was incredibly useful. Jonathan took a lot of "little" things that I thought I knew about NLP and put them together in a holistic, usuable, precise model. His teaching style is both relaxed and rigorous. He doesn't neccesarily push your limits but effectively challenges you to do it to yourself and does so with a lot of heart. I recomend him wholeheartedly.

I realized in the first five minutes of the seminar, that Jonathan was going to clarify issues that other trainers had glossed over.

I recently attended Jonathan Altfeld's 3 day Linguistic Wizardry seminar, presented by Jonathan, in Boston. The seminar is geared to people that have a working knowledge of NLP and those that would like to see their language skills improve.
I have found Jonathan's teaching style to be exceptional and entertaining on multiple levels. Not only does Jonathan present the material; he demonstrates it as well. All the time, unconsciously, I think.
The training was very interactive. Language skills for gaining rapport and pattern interrupts were discussed and we did a number of different exercises as practice. A good amount of time was spent on delving into the submodalities and how to use them in language patterns. Some of the other topics covered included using embedded commands, tonality, quotes, verbal anchors and binds. We did a good number of exercises that were designed to tie all of these language skills together. Jonathan also taught in depth on using timelines and the proper tenses to place things in the past, present or future linguistically.
The accommodations were excellent at the Doubletree Suites. The staff was courteous and pleasant. The hotel had a nice restaurant and bar with one of the top rated jazz clubs in Boston. Harvard Square, home of the original House of Blues, was a short 10 minute drive from the hotel and Chinatown was about 20 minutes away so there was plenty to do locally in the evening.
Overall, I have found that my awareness of language, as both a speaker and as a listener has improved. I'm better focused on what and how I need to say things in order to get the outcomes that I would like from the people that I interact with.
If you would like to turbo-charge your language I highly recommend taking Linguistic Wizardry with Jonathan.
