Attention NLP Master Practitioners who...

    ...don't feel the label fits...

    and/or

...aren't seeing consistent and profound results...

    and/or

...don't sound as fluid as you want to...

...We have some important news about a new, highly relevant workshop which may help you finally reach the depths of skills and impactful results that have eluded you so far.

Finally, a training offering an alternative "next step" after Master Practitioner that doesn't require people to become trainers.

      Dear NLP Master Practitioner,

When Doug O'Brien and I were in London last June 2004 to train our groundbreaking workshop "Belief Craft", we also spoke at several evening events, and we learned a lot about the variant quality of NLP trainings taking place in the UK. In my case, I re-confirmed my concerns, since I've been training over in the UK typically twice a year for about 7 years now, and it was useful for me to have Doug as a sounding board on my observations. He saw and heard what I saw and heard, and validated my concerns.

And what are those concerns? That many people told us that they had gotten certified at various levels, but didn't feel confident in their own depth of skills. They reported to us, and we have seen some evidence to support this, that there are a lot of "certified" practitioners and master practitioners who don't feel anywhere near as capable or sound anywhere near as knowledgeable, as even THEY desire, let alone what Doug & I would enjoy seeing/experiencing.

Because both Doug and I care a great deal about ensuring our own students exceed even their own expectations, let alone ours, naturally, it disappoints us whenever we encounter people who aren't satisfied with where they think their skills should be.

So what's the root of the problem?

It should be obvious, if it isn't. The root of the problem is a combination of free market competition, privatization of trainings across many training organizations, lack of government regulation, absence of a clear set of standards across multiple "schools of thought," etc.

Don't get us wrong. We happen to believe that in most contexts, these are bountiful GIFTS. We don't want regulation, enforced standards over everyone, nor would we prefer the absence of free market competition. These things all lead to the market identifying & choosing the best from the worst, and rewarding those who benefit us all, both students and trainers, maximally. And while we believe these business issues are gifts to us for most purposes, and in most contexts, we also recognize the down-side. And that down-side is unfortunate.

Why is it unfortunate? Because if you're a Master Practitioner and you're still reading this far, chances are you recognize that certification trainings have gotten shorter & shorter over the years. Chances are you know that one trainer may focus more on the therapy side of things, and another may focus more on the business side of things. Chances are you know that 1 week of training does not easily make for a high-quality certified anything.

But one week... could easily correct the problem!

Doug and I decided that if we looked closely at what we believe a Master Practitioner ought to be, and be able to do, and then looked even more closely at the knowledge & skill-levels we were experiencing from most Master Practitioners we were meeting in the UK, we would notice some important differences. And that we did. Take a look at this list and see if you don't read a few lines that apply to you:

  • Inconsistent results with rapport skills. (Master Practitioners should have resolved this ages ago!)
  • Inconsistent Calibration Skills (Master Practitioners should have a sense of when their calibration is off, and know what to do to revive it).
  • Unbalanced sensory modalities -- and/or poor sensory acuity in any modality (Master Practitioners should be able to dance around with any sensory balance, both somatically and verbally).
  • Only Conscious Competence in Milton-style pattern language, if even that level. (Master Practitioners should be unconsciously competent in Milton style trance language).
  • Lack of parallel/lateral thinking to see the forest AND the trees, concurrently. (Master Practitioners should be able to make vast logical leaps, using outside-of-the-box thinking).
  • An intuitive sense of what to do, & when (Master Practitioners should feel like they nearly always know what to say in, and/or how to handle, almost any situation).
  • An inability to create & design unique NLP interventions on the fly (Master Practitioners should come across as gifted with designing solutions to problems. Note -- this doesn't mean overcomplicating what requires simple pragmatic solutions -- it means avoiding labels and prescribed solutions).
  • A habit of doing remedial change, not generative change. (Master Practitioners should value the use of common patterns for remedial change, but primarily aim for generative work.
  • A lack of sufficient "state control" (Master Practitioners should really be able to change their state -- anytime -- anywhere -- no excuses).
  • Lack of tolerance of other people's differences (Master Practitioners caught being turned off and/or stuck for any amount of time, because of someone else's behavior or values -- frankly just ought to know better. Maybe now would be a good time for some self-reflection. Has this described any of your behavior recently?)
  • The occasional unwillingness to see the contextual usefulness of NLP Presuppositions (a form of stuck-states) (Master Practitioners ought to know that the state of "certainty" of anything -- is a great indicator of a lack of thorough behavioral integration of NLP. NLP is best when it enables a multiplicity of views to be held within our minds).
  • Forgetting to use certain basic fundamentals until after the fact (e.g., "damn! I could have anchored that!" -- Master Practitioners should regularly capitalize on common opportunities to use the basics. )
  • An unclear, insufficient understanding of modeling (Master Practitioners are supposed to be, plain & simple, at least good, solid, modelers. When did this skillset get thrown out of MP trainings???)
  • ...And of course, there are unfortunately lots more such examples of incomplete Master Practitioner skillsets.

If you exemplify even 2 or 3 of the above problems, don't fret. Doug and I plan to help you not only move beyond these challenges, but take you way beyond, into the adventurous. Not with hype -- not with overblown marketing -- but with an INTENSE, thoroughly engaging, small sized-class with ample trainer-attention and quality assistants.

How our Advanced Master Practitioner training will meet your needs and exceed your expectations:

Hours and Trainer Commitment: We plan to train morning, afternoon, and evening. Doug & I will be present in the room together nearly all of the time. It won't be one of those trainings where one trainer is there in the AM, and another in the afternoon. We both want to observe and care for your progress throughout.

Location & "Training Style": While located in London for maximum convenience, this training will be more like a "residential" event, given the hours involved. We will train at least 10 hours per day for seven days straight. We will involve accelerated learning systems and a range of body activity to maximize your acquisition and retention. And we plan to hit the ground running, and maintain a fast pace without sacrificing depth of skill trained.

Naturally, the only way we can do this, is by requiring certain pre-requisites. First, this training is ONLY open to NLP Master Practitioners. Yes, if you've taken 7-day courses, that is acceptable; if anything, this training is largely designed for the vast number of Master Practitioners who took shorter certification trainings and aren't where they know they should be. We also welcome those who have lots of "book learning" from having taken longer-duration trainings with more academically-styled trainers, but seem to lack some of the behavioral integration more commonly characteristic of the Society-of-NLP style trainings (Granted, we know there are many exceptions to these generalizations).

In addition, we have a range of prerequisite audio/video material that WILL take some time to get through, so the sooner you register and acquire your advance required materials (if you haven't already bought them for other reasons), the sooner you can get started on preparing for our Advanced Master Practitioner course in June. We have our preferences/recommendations -- a list of ~5 recorded NLP programmes -- and we can and will customize our recommendations for each registered participant. So -- we do not publicize the list -- you have to be fully registered to find out our pre-requisites for the June course. So obviously, the sooner you're registered, the better prepared you'll be in June.

"What do you mean you won't publish your pre-requisite list here?"

Look, if you're just browsing, you're not our ideal candidate for this course, plain & simple.

On the other hand, if you're dissatisfied with your present skillset and knowledge level, and you want a solution to that challenge involving training with two world-class, involved, caring, great trainers, then you're our candidate. You're the kind of learner who takes their learning seriously and is willing to take responsibility for showing up in June with a certain expected level of knowledge under your belt. What materials we recommend is less important than the fact that we are expecting every participant to be able to hit the ground running. This workshop is going to be exceptionally exciting. Fast paced but also deep training. Challenging but also immensely fun training. So if you want to know our pre-requisites, and what we might change/alter/recommend for your personal situation, you have to register first.

What we will do, is give you a thorough taste of our itinerary!

How many trainers will tell you, down to the hour, their agenda for their courses? Doug and I went through the exercise of planning out almost the entire course down to the hour. The purpose of this, of course, was to ensure that we could accomplish, in just one week, all that we'll set out to accomplish with you, or more. So when reading this, I will tell you in advance that Doug & I reserve the right to change this agenda either a little, or a lot, as we get closer to the event, or, on-the-fly in London, if we think it suits our purposes to turn you into an ADVANCED MASTER PRACTITIONER. If the group of students we see in June is stronger in some of these areas, and weaker in others, we WILL change our agenda to meet the needs of each person attending. So if it weren't already clear -- the following is NOT to be taken as our literal schedule, but only as one potential idea from many options, as to how we plan to train you in June. Any registered students in London telling us that a certain hour didn't match this published schedule -- will be required to customize the fast phobia cure for someone who has a phobia of seeing themselves in pictures.

Note in the following schedule, we'll allow 60 minutes for lunch, and 90 minutes for Dinner. Also, towards the end, we are leaving certain sessions open for customization (& probably trance-work in various forms).

Celebration & Conclusion...

I honestly cannot recall ANY trainers' marketing materials in which they were willing to show you, up front, their likely schedule for the entire course. Apparently you're just supposed to presume their seminars are going to cover material that's useful to you!

Keep in mind though, even though we list our intended topics, even a schedule can give a less-than-holistic impression. Take the above sequence of topics. Add to it a supportive environment of some of the most knowledgeable trainers, assistants, and top-notch fellow students, and we think it may be amongst the richest learning environment we've *ever* created for a seminar. Top that off with our commitment to provide ongoing personal feedback to you throughout the course, but NOT only on the topics listed above. Our aim will be to give feedback that connects what students may currently be doing, with other things we may not have mentioned. The point is to drive home parallel connections and integration of many areas of NLP, not just to deepen a collection of skills, one after the other.

Where and when?

We'll be training in a central London venue. Details will be posted within 1 week.

We train Sunday 12 June through Saturday 18 June. We recommend you rest up on Saturday 11 June, and give yourself a day to wind down on Sunday June 19 before returning to work.

Hours will be from 9:00am until 9:30pm every day. This is a 7-day intensive. You will want and need to clear your calendars. The results will be profound, however!

What's the investment?

£1095 if registering after 13 May 2005
£1045 if registering on or before 13 May 2005 (save £50!)
£995 if registering on or before 15 April 2005 (save £100!)
£945 if registering on or before 23 March 2005! (save £150!)

I look forward to seeing you too in London. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me & ask.

Warm regards to you & yours, from your friend and trainer,

Sincerely,
Jonathan Signature
