| Jonathan | Welcome to the IRC CHAT Featuring Dave Gonzales of Access NLP Seminars - in Austin TX! Dave, 1st off, thanks for coming!
| AccessNLP | You bet!
| PureNLP | I'm amazed already!!
| AccessNLP | You would be!
| Jonathan | Thanks for agreeing to come up with a topic you wanted to present... and let me pass the floor over to you! Welcome!!!
| AccessNLP | Ok, thanks for having me. Well, I want to start with the idea of amazement, and why being amazed is something that's useful to do! Too often people go, "Uh huh!" and they 'get it,' but where's the wonder?
| Jonathan | Hmmm... I wonder...
| Sunev | I was gonna say that!
| AccessNLP | I enjoy keeping my eyes, ears, open, and going, "Oooooohhh, Ahhhhh, Wow!" So, why would someone want to be amazed anyway?
| Sunev | For FUN!
| Jonathan | Do we like rhetorical questions? :)
| Sunev | Yes!
| AccessNLP | For me being amazed is a trigger for wanting to learn more!
| Jonathan | Cooooool! So, being amazed leads to wanting to learn more.
| AccessNLP | Sometimes people think it's a lot more difficult, and it's really a lot easier than they think. When they think it's gonna be hard, it is... and sometimes that's good! At least, that's what my wife says!
| Sunev, Jonathan | LOL!
| _Richard_ | Amazing
| PureNLP | She says more than that, too.
| AccessNLP | How many times have you worried about something...
| Jonathan | 14
| _Richard_ | 6
| DLuzi | 6
| Sunev | 7!
| AccessNLP | ...or been overly concerned that something wasn't gonna turn out the way you wanted, and then been pleasantly surprised that it was much more delightful than you would have planned?
| Sunev | 7X7!
| Jonathan | Oh, a bunch of times.
| AccessNLP | I'm often amazed by the way people mistreat themselves and beat themselves into submission before they realize that it's OK to simply let go, and jump into the pool of experience! And sometimes when I catch myself being hard on myself, I have an alarm that goes off -- it's a very rich voice, "Dave you are being a hard-on... yourself!" and Boom! I begin to laugh, and things change!
| IntriKate, Jonathan, Sunev | LOL!
| AccessNLP | It's amazing to me how often problems in the external world dissolve, when I dissolve them in my head.
| Jonathan | OK, stop for a second; that is so key!!! What Dave just said, thats gold!
| PureNLP | Copyright it Dave, quick ®!
| Sunev | LOL!
| AccessNLP | Ha, ha! When i first moved to Austin, I was missing my Baby! Holley was still living in a town about 4 hours away from here, and we decided it would be good to get a puppy to keep me company til she moved in. I was looking in the papers and pet stores for a pooch, and then Boom! I found two dogs just like I wanted! On the street! It's fun to manifest things like that! You find what you look for.
| PureNLP | And thought.
| Tranzpupy | Pennies. Nickles, $50 bills.
| AccessNLP | Great little pooches! They are snuggled right here. I'm sure all of you have experiences like that
| Jonathan | I think you're on to something there. Who here has had experiences like that in real life?
| sunev, _Richard_, candyman^, IntriKate, Tranzpupy | Me!
| PureNLP | All of me.
| AccessNLP | To me, the universe is simply a system of consciousness, and it is affected by the very pictures and feelings we produce. Sound familiar?
| Dluzi, Jonathan | Yes.
| AccessNLP | I really like the metaphor about race car drivers, and how if they ever lose control of their car, the first thing they teach them is to look where they want to end up -- even if it would normally be physically impossible to end up there. and how often they miraculously maneuver the racecar back on track! Yumm!
| NLPSGI | Cooool
| Jonathan | That's excellent.
| Sunev | That is truly cool!
| AccessNLP | The word amazing... A maze zing! It has a maze built in it, or a puzzle that is definitely solvable, it simply takes paying attention (to the external world) in order to solve it, and once you solve it.. Ahhhh! Maze! Zing!
| Jonathan | Eureka!
| Sunev | Viola!
| Tranzpupy | Ausgezeitnet!
| AccessNLP | The feeling is fantastic! it's easy to be amazed! Simply go out and make people smile without saying a word.
| _Richard_ | I love doing that.
| Jonathan | YES!
| candyman^ | Zing'em with a maze!
| thefool | BINGO :)
| PhilAlex | Zing... I love that word...
| AccessNLP | Yeah, I went to a seminar once... where the trainer told us to go out and make at least one person a day feel reaaaalllly gooood for the duration of the training (and beyond). And I'm sure he had lots of reasons for having us do this, but the one that I noticed most was that it's easiest to create good feelings in others, when you are feeling good yourself!
| _Richard_ | Great advice!
| IntriKate | You have to go first!
| AccessNLP | It's about going first!
| Jonathan | Does that mean that they'll be likely to feel good enough to make someone else feel good...? Oooh, think of the possibilities....
| AccessNLP | Uh huh!
| Jonathan | So if you're the start of just a single FIRST ZING
| PureNLP | Someone say pasta bilities?
| AccessNLP | It's amaze zing!
| Sunev | Hahaha!
| Jonathan | That could be the start of a million, billion ZINGS
| AccessNLP | Amazement opens up possibilities. And that's what's important about it! Ahhhhh
| _Richard_ | We could have a zing along
| Sunev | Lol!
| AccessNLP | Zing a dee doo dah! ZING a Dee day!
| Jonathan | Woohoo! If NLP is about feeling good and creating more options... more possibilities....
| Tranzpupy | no more.
| Jonathan | More a MAZE ZING responses... :)
| Sunev | I've got a zinging feeling! and that's a good zing!
| AccessNLP | Swirling up and down your spine!
| Jonathan | Question for everyone: Which do you think is an easier transition for you? Starting with AMAZEMENT? Leading to more possibilities? Or starting with possibilities and hoping for Amazement?
| Sunev | Amazement first! Surprises open up a whole new world!
| Saffron | Really BEing in the state of amazement can only open up endless possibilities
| Jonathan | Only? Sounds pretty great to me!
| Sunev | Where *is* that state anyway? Anybody got a map?
| _Richard_ | Walk THIS way
| Sunev | You mean, like this?
